We arrived in Hervey Bay on Thursday morning and it was better than Rainbow, so I was pleased! We stayed at Next Backpackers, which was a good hostel. The weather was pretty bad all day, so we just hung around in cafes and whenever it stopped raining we made a run for the  beach! After Noosa we headed to Rainbow Beach, which was weird! There was literally nothing there. We arrived at around 6ish, so it was going dark, but we thought we'd walk down to the beach and then try and find a the sand blow, which we'd heard about. However, it didn't go to plan, because Sam through a tantrum on the way to the sand blow, because it had gone dark and she didn't like it. We hadn't planned to stop at Mooloolaba, but the driver of the Oz bus recommended it, so we'd thought we'd stop off for a couple of nights. I'm glad we did, because it was so much fun! The hostel was nice and the town was really pretty. There was a trialatholon on the weekend we were there, so the place was buzzing.......more

We arrived in Brisbane on Wednesday 23rd March and as I walked up the steps to the hostel I saw Sam standing at the reception, which brought a big smile to my face :) The hostel was alright, although it wasn't very sociable. On the first day we went for a nice lunch and thn got a boat down the river and stopped off at the University and went for an ice cream at the student union, which was fun! We were told that Surfer's Paradise was a bit of a dump and not to bother going, but after being in Byron for so long, it was nice to be somewhere a bit more lively. Our hostel wa massive and our room was nice. There was a pool and hot tub and we were only one block from the beach. The Cyclone was supposed to hit whilst we were here, but the weather was pretty good every day. The shopping here was leathal and did damage to my bank......more
